Longtime Scout Believes Giants Have the Next Barry Bonds in Their Pipeline
The San Francisco Giants don't have a strong farm system. Ranked 24th by Baseball America and 28th by MLB Pipeline, they have been impacted by graduating a few of their young players. Bryce Eldridge is the headliner, and while he is projected to become a superstar slugger at some point in his career, the rest of the top 10 are largely in the lower levels of the farm.
Giants Slugger Set To Rejoin Team After Long Road Trip With Return Date Nearing
The San Francisco Giants have been in search of power throughout their lineup for a while. Since they play in one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in Major League Baseball, it's hard for their own players to put balls over the fence at a consistent rate. Because of that, San Francisco took a flyer on slugger Jerar Encarnacion last year. In the midst of the 2024 season, the Giants signed him away from the Guerreros de Oaxaca of the Mexican League on May 16 by locking him into a minor league deal.
Robbie Ray moves to 7-0 with 6 strong innings, Sam Huff homers and Giants beat Nationals 3-2
Robbie Ray pitched six strong innings to improve to 7-0, Sam Huff homered and the San Francisco Giants hung on to beat the Nationals 3-2 on Sunday and take two of three at Washington. Washington's CJ Abrams led off the ninth with a double off of closer Ryan Walker. James Wood drove Abrams in with a one-out double to make it 3-2, but Walker retired the next two batters to earn his 10th save.
Giants Have One of Baseball's Best Outfields When at Full Strength
The San Francisco Giants have done everything quietly this season in terms of the amount of national attention they garner. Quietly, they have kept pace in the gauntlet that is the National League West. In left field, Heliot Ramos has established himself as one of the most feared power hitters in the National League and is only getting better right now. Slashing .286/.350/.480 with nine home runs and 26 RBI in his first 52 games of the season, Ramos is back to his All-Star quality form from the first half of last season and only seems to be getting better.
SF Giants take series in D.C. as Ray continues excellent stretch
Robbie Ray continued his recent stretch of excellence by allowing one run over six innings with seven strikeouts as the Giants beat the Washington Nationals 3-2 on Sunday at Nationals Park to take the series. For Ray, this is his sixth consecutive outing of at least six innings, the third time he's done so in his career. During this stretch, Ray has allowed seven earned runs over 39 innings (1.62 ERA) with 44 strikeouts to four walks.

Giants Have Trade Bait in Minors That Could Help Strengthen MLB Rotation
Despite expectations being somewhat low coming into the season, the San Francisco Giants are proving seemingly every day that they are here to stay. As the Giants continue to perform well in the challenging National League West, the possibility of this team being a legitimate contender is becoming more realistic. While the hot start could have been seen as nothing more than that, with a record well over the .500 mark toward the end of May, San Francisco is proving to be a strong team. Due to the franchise not having the highest of expectations, being a seller at the trade deadline seemed like the most likely result for them coming into the campaign.

Giants Highly Ranked Prospect Proving His Worth at Triple-A Sacramento
The San Francisco Giants are in a phenomenal position when it comes to their roster, as they have not only found current success, but they also have the prospects available in their farm system to put together a long-term contender. Carson Whisenhunt is on the brink of being called up. Slugger Bryce Eldridge is working his way up, and Josuar De Jesus is an exciting up-and-coming shortstop with plenty of skills to build off of. One of the other prospects who has started to show some impressive flashes of success is pitcher Carson Seymour, who has been solid in Triple-A so far, and continues to improve each start he makes.

Controversial Giants Legend Selected to All-Quarter Century MLB Team
In the Bay Area and across baseball, one San Francisco Giants player is always going to elicit a reaction. Barry Bonds is the all-time home run leader in baseball. Recently, The Athletic's Jayson Stark (subscription required) put together an all-quarter century team, the best players at each position from 2000 to present. Bonds made the list, as Stark installed him as his left fielder.
SF Giants' offense silenced as Harrison makes first start of year
Kyle Harrison finds himself at an interesting juncture in his major-league career. Harrison, 23, is part of the Giants' rotation for now, entering the mix when Justin Verlander hit the injured list. Once Verlander returns, Harrison will likely return to the bullpen. After totaling the second-most starts and innings for the Giants last season, it's unclear whether he sees more time as a starter or reliever.
