The Arizona Diamondbacks will receive a much-needed boost as first baseman and designated hitter Josh Naylor is back in the lineup Wednesday night against the San Francisco Giants. Diamondbacks assistant general manager Mike Fitzgerald told Arizona Sports' Wolf & Luke on Wednesday that he was anticipating Naylor to return to the lineup after missing the team's last four games.

The San Francisco Giants carried their ugly stretch to close out June into July, now losing seven of their last eight games. Things at the hot corner went from bad to worse when Christian Koss was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left hamstring strain. Luckily, there is encouraging news on that front with regards to Chapman, something San Francisco could use.

Erwin Higueros was just one of the surely many Bay Area baseball fans searching “Rafael Devers” on YouTube. Higueros, the Giants' longtime Spanish language radio broadcaster and team translator, was more interested in clips of the Dominican-born Devers talking, not playing. “I kind of got an idea of how much English he spoke or how little he did,” Higueros told The Examiner. Born in Guatemala but living in the United States since he was 12 years old, Higueros doesn't just serve as the Giants' translator for Spanish-speaking players.

Elite hitters, a manageable rotation even without former Cy Young Award-winning pitcher Corbin Burnes and a solid defense are not enough right now for the Diamondbacks. “It's unacceptable and embarrassing,” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said before Monday's game the Giants. Shelby Miller appeared to respond to Lovullo's words by striking out two over 1.1 perfect innings to earn the save in Monday's 4-2 win over the Giants, after having had blown two of his last five save chances.
