Giants place 3B Matt Chapman (hand) on IL
San Francisco Giants standout third baseman Matt Chapman was placed on the 10-day injured list due to right hand inflammation prior to Tuesday's game against the host Colorado Rockies. Chapman injured the hand while being picked off during Sunday's game against the Houston Astros. He jammed it while diving back to first base in the bottom of the eighth inning and immediately displayed he was in pain. Chapman, 32, finished out the game and underwent X-rays, which came back negative. Still, the inflammation remained the following day and then a move was made on Tuesday.
