Giants' Dom Smith blast HR into McCovey Cove
The Giants may not have gotten the start they hoped for from Robbie Ray, but with the way their offense has come alive, it hardly mattered. On Friday night at Oracle Park, San Francisco rolled past the Baltimore Orioles 15-7 for its sixth straight victory, a game defined by loud contact, relentless hitting, and a moment that felt pulled from the Barry Bonds era. In the fifth inning, the veteran first baseman launched a ball deep into McCovey Cove for his first career splash hit — the 107th in the ballpark's history.
SF Giants score season-high 15 runs, extend winning streak to six games
Dominic Smith grew up idolizing Barry Bonds. Now, Smith, too, knows the feeling of sending a long ball into the San Francisco Bay. Smith's first Splash Hit — and the 107th in Oracle Park history — was the highlight of a night where the Giants (67-68) outslugged the Baltimore Orioles 15-8 on Friday night and extended their winning streak to six games.

Can the Giants Really Battle their way Back to an NL Wild Card Spot?
Right now in San Francisco, one of the craziest things happening right now is the resurgence of the Giants, who seemed to have awoke from a summer slumber to make this Autumn incredibly intriguing. Expected to be a contender in 2025, San Francisco has struggled with injuries, inconsistency, and some moves at the MLB trade deadline that initially blew up in their face. While it's still a long shot that the team can somehow squeeze its way into the playoffs, they are now six games out of the Wild Card race, behind the New York Mets, who hold the final berth right now. The Boys from the Big Apple have been playing good baseball as well; they recently swept the first-place Philadelphia Phillies.
